In July and September, the STADT:up project team met at the Aldenhoven Testing Centre near Aachen to conduct the first joint test drives with the newly developed and equipped prototypes. The focus was on planning and conducting road tests and systematically recording test and measurement data.

A total of 12 test vehicles were on site, equipped with the components integrated and algorithms developed as part of the project. The aim was to test the functionality and interaction of the technologies under realistic conditions.

These first test days represented an important milestone for STADT:up – on the way to innovative solutions and technologies for automated driving in urban areas.
